In line with the vision of the first lady of Oyo State,Her Excellency, Engr.Olufunke Makinde towards the complete eradication of gender-based violence among women in the State , wife of the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government,Mrs Ajarat Taoheed Adedigba has led women within the twelve wards of the council area on a campaign against the act
Mrs Adedigba, while addressing market women during the campaign stressed that the initiative was targeted at sensitizing women on various degree of violence being meted on women in the society such as sexual abuse, child abuse,rape,minor marriage and harmful traditional practise.
A statement by the Head of Information Unit of the council, Adedoja Ajinkunmi indicated that the campaign trail commenced from the local government secretariat to major markets and major motor parks in the council area
Mrs Adedigba who encouraged all women to keep watch over their kids and young girls not to be molested by any man, warned teenagers,young ladies and mothers to be conscious of what they wear and not seducing clothes that tempts men.
The rally also had in attendance all the wives of political functionaries, women legislators in Akinyele Legislative Council,women leaders from all the wards, women organizations (NGO), Head of Local Government Administration ,Akinyele Local Government,Dr. Mrs Dele Busari and all Heads of Departments and Units Heads.
