Residents of Okaka town in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State have been charged to imbibe maintenance culture most especially while using the newly commissioned solar powered-borehole in the town.
The multi million naira project executed by an association called club twelve 88 Abuja, was facilitated to Okaka town by an illustrious son of the town, Rear Admirer Amos Gbadejo Adedeji.
In their remarks, some prominent members of the club, Rear Admirer Adedeji (Rrd), Engineer Remi Adeoye and others implored the people of the area where the project is situated to maintain it.
They emphasised that the project which gulped about#3.6 is meant to address the problem of water scarcity in Okaka town.
In his goodwill message, the Olokaka of Okakaland, Oba Abdul Azeez Olatunji Ayoola Ogelende the fourth, appreciated members of club twelve 88 Abuja for their philanthropic gesture, particularly to the people of Okaka.
He admonished them not to rest on their oars.
The monarch also assured the body of proper maintenance of the project through regular maintenance.
In their separate views, Okaka Community Chairman,Revd Jeremiah Adeosun and former Chairman Okaka Community Deacon Sunday Orokunle Idowu promised to do everything needful to make sure that the project is not vandalized.
The duo in their appreciation to club twelve 88 Abuja, charged Okaka indigines to pursue unity of purpose for the overall development of the town.
The project which was commissioned by Emeritus Professor Chief Layi Eegunjobi, also had in attendance,Mr Komolafe from Ifewara,Osun State, Chief Itiade Odeyemi and Dr Lateef Ajibike among others.
