Use your talents to promote the Church, Bishop Abegunrin admonishes new CAEAN Ibadan Province executives

The Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastic Province, Most Rev’d Gabriel Leke Abegunrin has admonished members of Catholic Artistes and Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEAN) Ibadan Province to be good ambassadors and  use their talent to promote and advance the Church and kingdom of God.

Most Rev’d Abegunrin gave the admonition at a mass service heralding the inauguration of new executive members of CAEAN at just concluded Provincial CAEAN Ibadan Congress. Held at St. Patrick Catholic Church Bashorun, Ibadan.

The new executive members are Ambassador (Mrs) Edith Isidahomen Coordinator, from Ibadan Archdioscese, 

Vice Coordinator, Mr Esiakpere Emmanuel from Osogbo Diocese, Secretary Mr Fasanya David from Ondo Diocese, Assistant Secretary Miss Amodu Blessing Ilorin Diocese, and the  Public Relation Officer Mr Paul Ogunsanya Oyo Diocese.

 

The selection, which was made from different diocese in Ibadan province, is aimed at representing each diocese in Ibadan Province.

The programme is themed: Repositioning CAEAN in Ibadan Province Towards Innovative and Digital Presence.”

The Clergy who described the role of CAEAN as vital to the development of the church urged the members of the association to grow with true characters  in order to enable them justify their service to God and the people.

“I urge you to be good ambassadors and also be diligent in your group so that your service to God and the church will be justified and acceptable, Keep doing your good work so that God will reward your efforts.

“Don’t imitate those who pretend to be  doing something whereas they are not, God rewards good efforts, so I urge you to grow with true character in order to justify your service to the church.”

In her address, the Coordinator of Catholic Artistes and Entertainers Association of Nigeria, Ambassador (Mrs) Edith Isidahomen thanked Bishop Gabriel Abegunrin for his fatherly roles and  unflinching supports , assuring that the association will live up to expectations in their service to the church.

According to her, CAEAN is an association that brings all Catholics who are in the field of entertainment together to use their talent to serve God, the church, and humanity.

“CAEAN aims to propagate the gospel through the use of various aspects of the media. As Artistes, we understand the profound impacts creativity can have in shaping hearts and minds, through the lens of our Catholic faith, we embark on a  journey of inspiration, seeking to illuminate the world with the beauty, truth and goodness inherent in our shared belief.”

Ambassadors Isidahomen who said the Congress serves as a unique platform  for them to exchange ideas, showcase their talents,  and deepen  their connection to both their artistic pursuit and spiritual root added that the organization which is duly recognized by the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) is an entertainment outfit saddled with  responsibility of propagating  the Catholic Faith, Initiated by Rev. Father Emmanuel Badejo, now Bishop of Oyo Diocese.

Ambassador (Mrs) Isidahomen said the theme for the programme will give them an avenue to evaluate the current trend in the digital world and look at how  it can be of advantages to the Church, adding that as a group, they need to make use these digital gadget and opportunity for the growth of the church.

“I thank Bishop Ajakaye and Bishop Emmanuel Badejo for their support and encouragement to CAEAN and for creating this initiative. I also thank our Director of Communications in the province, the moderator of Provincial CAEAN Rev.Bro. Samuel Job, and Ibadan Archdioscese CAEAN  Chaplain Rev. Father Paul Afolabi, for their direction and support,  I want to assure you that we will live up to expectations by the grace of God.

In his lecture titled, Marketing Communication in relation to CAEAN, Father Anthony Adetayo from Ijebu Ode Diocese expressed the belief that the  powerful media today can effectively facilitate  easy communication through the current digital system in the media.

He said it is high time the body of Christ used the media to effectively  propagate  the gospel in the right direction. 

While urging CAEAN members to key into the opportunity of the current digital system in the Media to reach out to the church, Father Adetayo said the development if  well harnessed will no doubt reposition the association for better productions and delivery in the area of quality contents and package.
