Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), a leading faith-based institution of the Sword Of The Spirit Ministries International,Ibadan,has officially unveiled Professor Timothy Olubisi Adejumo as it’s new Vice Chancellor as well as other management team. His appointment takes effect from December 1, 2023.
Adejumo, a Modakeke, Osun State born Professor of Agricultural/Environmental
Microbiology and Biotechnology and also a pastor in the Sword Of The Spirit Ministries International, takes over from Professor Julius Oloke the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University since inception five years ago.
In his maiden address, shortly after his unveiling at the Board Room of the institution on Friday by the University’s Pro-Chancellor , Deacon Bayo Adegoke,
the new Vice Chancellor Prof. Timothy Adejumo, affirmed his commitment to build upon the foundations laid by the Chancellor of the institution, Bishop (Dr.) Wale Oke , Board of Trustees (BOT), it’s Governing Council,his predecessor and the entire management, to take the University to greater heights.
“I am highly committed to building upon the foundations laid by the Chancellor, BOT, Governing Council and my outgoing VC, my predecessor and the entire Management, to take the PCU to greater heights.
” Our university, anchored in faith and scholarship, holds the promise of molding individuals not only academically but also spiritually. I am committed to fostering an environment that encourage the integration of knowledge and faith, nurturing minds and souls alike.
” Together, we will foster an environment that encourages learning, critical thinking, and holistic development.
As we embark on this journey together, let us draw strength from our collective beliefs and the principles that define our institution.
” I am eager to engage with each of you- HODs, DMDs, Pastors, Ministers,

Professor Timothy Adejumo was born in Modakeke, Ife East Local Government in Osun State and holds B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Industrial Microbiology from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin and Ph.D. in Mycology and Plant Pathology from Department of Crop
Protection and Environmental Biology, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Ibadan, Ibadan
He is a Researcher with immense accademic records with research interests in molecular diagnostics, mycotoxicology, phytopathology, soil microbiology, biological control and microbial ecology, where he has more than 65 publications in local and international journals and books to his credit.
Earlier, the National President, Penticostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) who is also the Chancellor and Visitor to Precious Cornerstone University (PCU ) Bishop (Dr) Wale Oke reiterated the two cardinal pillars on which the institution was founded which are; accademic excellence and spiritual soundness urging the new Vice Chancellor and his management to take cognisance of them
Bishop Oke , who is the General Overseer of Sword Of The Spirit Ministries, International, urged the new management to be open to ideas and counsel in order to take the institution to greater heights
He, however, warned that the institution has zero tolerance for sexual promiscuity and cultism
In his words, Wale Oke said, “Prescious Cornerstone University rest upon two pillars which are academic excellence and spiritual foundation.”
“Academic excellence and spiritual soundness are the two major pillars PCU is standing upon because this is a faith-based university and that is the reason why we have zero tolerance for sexual or promiscuity, here we have zero tolerance for violence and cultism, if you want to belong to any society that is not godly you can go to somewhere else and as our new VC I want you to take all these into consideration, that here we have zero tolerance for ill-vices.”
