World Tolerance Day: Olagoke cautions politicians, counsels youths

As countries all over the World mark the World Tolerance Day,  the founder and spiritual head, Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP has called  on Nigeria leaders to operate within the constitution and shun acts of intimidation and oppression of the masses as well as  things that can inspire the youths negatively about the country.

Olagoke while delivering a lecture titled ” Tolerance : A Means To Foster Peace In A Multifaceted Society” to mark the World Tolerance  Day and the First Prof.  Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP Annual Tolerance Day Symposium described the youths as the hope of the country admonished them not to see  some of the corrupt Nigerian leaders as their role models . 

The Islamic cleric who is also the Arole Ogunelu of Aare Alasa dynasty however,

urged the Nigerian youths to learn from the elders so as not to be misled in choosing the right thing for their future. 

“Where there is no polity democracy can not work and people should be reformed from their various religious houses before venturing into any form of community position or politics while stating that the system of Nigeria is responsible for producing the present leaders who have been responsible for the Nations crisis” 

“Equity is essential to curb the menace of bad governance , there is no equity and that is why we have some people clamouring for restructuring because of the countries bad profile”  

Olagoke while emphasizing on the need for tolerance as means  of fostering peace said “Perceive every human being as unique and beyond their individual differences which must be tolerated for humanity varieties to be appreciated, this is the only way by which peaceful coexistence can be fostered, maintained and sustained. 

“We all have our differences because there is no perfect person on earth. We must therefore work on our areas of weaknesses and threats, while we must be ready to accept what we cannot change as in a sustainable marriage and collaborations.

” Tolerance is a must for all of us to be above beastly behaviour and negative reactions because it is an antidote to disharmony for ease promoting peace and development as well as safe and secured environment for investment and habitation driven by peaceful coexistence” 

” Live to tolerate each other  to be your brothers keeper because varieties and diversities are divine designs of God as permanently decreed to test our understanding, tolerance, love and the humane nature of accommodating cum hospitality base of human relation for peace,  team work spirit and development”, he urged 

In her remark,  immediate past secretary of National Youth Council ,Oyo State chapter, Alhaja Airat Adegbola stated that human beings will forever need each other for existence,  a reason why she hinted that we should all live in harmony for a better coexistence. 

“We need each other for existence,  therefore there is the need for us to tolerate each other in other to grow positively “, she stated  urging the youths to have a mind of tolerance irrespective of their religion and ethnicity. 

The immediate past chairman of National Youth Council,  Oyo State Council, Ambassador Agbeja Adebobola stated that tolerance is required to have social development while calling on the media to endeavor to preach tolerance at all times so as to inculcate in the youths the mind of tolerance which according  to her will curb societal vices that can build up crisis in the community. 

According to Agbeja who is also the Executive Director of The Young And Women Initiative (YAWI), If we can tolerate our religious diversity,  the community, state and the world at large will be a better place” 

She however commended Prof. Olagoke for recognising  the youths and for his continuous love for the youths to excel in life. 

Pastor Adejobi Olaposi who represented the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in his remarks charged the youths that the future of the country is in their hands and urged them to improve their social status to be able to change the society positively and not to adopt violence as a  means of achieving their goals in life.
