In order to create a conducive learning environment for students of Urban Day Secondary School Jericho, Ibadan, the Chairman, Ibadan North West Local Government area of Oyo State, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has presented a Mower Machine to the Principal of the school for the maintenance of the school garden and environment.
According to the Chairman, a good environment promotes good learning skills and enable students to have full concentration on their studies.
Honourable Adepoju pointed out that the refurbishment of Secondary schools is not part of the responsibilities of the local government, but donated the machine as a way of complementing the efforts of the state governor, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde in ensuring a conducive learning environment for the students.
“Donation of the machine to the school was part of efforts to complement the cleaning agenda of the our distinguished governor.”
He said, his visit to the school and seeing the environment very bushy prompted him to take the urgent step to prevent any harm on the students’.
Responding, the principal of the school Mrs Toyin Ajibola appreciated the kind gestures of the council boss to the school management and entire students.She urged him not to relent in his efforts in giving back to the society.
The presentation which was done at the office of chairman had in attendance the Chief of staff, Honourable Kazeem Fantola, Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Olaronke Ige, Deputy Director of Education, Mr Ojo and Head of Community Development Unit Mrs Saanuade.
