The Executive Chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has embarked on the installation of streetlights in four major wards within the council area targeted at complementing the light-up project executed by the Governor at the state level.
The council boss said the objective behind the installation of the solar streetlights is to light up Ido thereby complimenting the effort of the state government in the light up Oyo state embarked upon by Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde.
Adeojo, in a press release by the Information officer of the council, Bello Ademola Jeleel, stressed further that the streetlights being installed will serve as a source of security in the areas covered and will assist the security personnel in their surveillance roles within the areas.
According to him, the illumination of the streetlights will equally serve as a protective light for the motorists plying the areas covered by the project.
It will be noted that the job has been completed in Wards Five and Three while work is ongoing in Wards One and Four.
