
Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan may begin to get the sum of forty million Naira (#40m) monthly to run its activities.
Speaking in an exclusive interview in Ibadan, Chairman of Shooting Stars Football club, Honorable David Babatunde Olaniyan said the team had sent a file containing its budget for the month which is forty million naira to the state Governor Engr Seyi Makinde positing that this is the amount that will be able to run the team well.
Honorable Olaniyan disclosed that he was sure that the Governor would oblige their request based on the assurance received from him.
The Chairman stated that with this development, the Oluyole Warriors will begin to get the sum of #40m monthly
He disclosed that with this, the Oluyole Warriors would be sufficiently positioned to target continental ticket in the forthcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL ) since it can now conveniently take care of its expenses.
To this end, the Chairman revealed that the 1975 African Cup Winners Champions has already fixed the departments which would enhance its performance during the incoming football season.
Specifically, he stated that the 3sc had beefed up the defense, midfield and the attacking departments of the 1996 double Champion adding some of the newly sign on players include some players from its feeders team.
Honorable Olaniyan said further that the other players include those from teams in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the NPFL noting that with this in mind, Shooting Stars are ready to rub shoulders with the top teams in the NPFL.
“ I would have told you the name of the new players but you may begin to say that they are tired legs but I know they are well experienced in the league and as such will deliver for us” he explained.
“I can tell tell you that we are targeting a continental ticket this season because we have already done our preparations ahead of the incoming football season” the Chairman pointed out.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the team revealed that he had received information that the 2023 football season shall begin this weekend September 30, with their match against Plateau United of Jos at the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan while the Nigeria National League will be in an abridged format.
