Following his emergence as the Chairman of Conference of Speakers in Nigeria on Saturday, the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal and top government officials in the state on Thursday honoured the Speaker of the state House of Assembly Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin with a heroic welcome.
Top dignitaries who were at the grand reception with the Deputy Governor, included the Chief Judge, Justice Iyabo Yerima, Secretary to the State Government, Professional Olajumoke Adeyemo, Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi, former Deputy Speaker, Abdul-wasi Musah, commissioners and other members of the House of Assembly.
The grand reception which was attended by friends and loyalist of the Speaker from across the state and Ibarapa East Constituency was held at Western Hall, Parliament Building, House of Assembly complex, Secretariat, Ibadan.
In his goodwill message, the state Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, assured that Governor Seyi Makinde’s led government would continue to identify and cooperate with the legislative and the judiciary arms of government to keep the state moving forward.
“Once again, the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde will continue to cooperate with the legislature and judiciary to keep the state moving forward.
“Oyo state is coming stronger and it is going to be the best state in Nigeria from what we have seen happening today, we are well focused in such a way that the primary assignment of each arms of government will move the state forward in the right direction.
The Deputy Governor described the new feat and leadership qualities of the Speaker as unique, commendable and worthy of emulation.
According to him, Ogundoyin’s humility and leadership style paved way for his emergence as the Chairman of Conference of Speakers.
“You are a young man endowed with sterling leadership qualities, and I am happy that you are discharging your duties with fear of God and respect to the people.”
“We will continue to pray for the Speaker, encourage him, and continue to seek for the support of the 10th House of Assembly in all ramifications,” the Deputy Governor said.
In their separate speech, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo and Chief Judge of Oyo State, commended the leadership style and administrative acumen of the Speaker, describing the development as an of God. They, therefore, wished him a successful tenure in office.
In his address, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde, supporters and members of the state House of Assembly for providing him the enable atmosphere and opportunity to become the Speaker of the House.
The Speaker attributed the achievement to the track records of governor Makinde’s strides, adding that the governor’s leadership has turned the state to a model in Nigeria.
Ogundoyin reiterated his commitment to the people of the state, saying his administration would continue to carry out quality legislative policies that would foester development to the people and the state as a whole.
