The Ezendigbo in Oyo State, His Royal Highness, Dr Alex Anozie has described the Olubadan of Ibadan land Oba (Dr) Lekan Balogun Alli Okunmade II as a monumental blessing to Ibadan land, Oyo State and the nation in general.
The commendation followed the peace and progress which the city has recorded in the past one year since the ascension of the monarch to the throne.
Dr Anozie who acknowledged and described the warm reception of Oba Balogun to the Igbos in Ibadan as complimentary and encouraging said the development has continued to foester peace and progress to the ancient city.
“Yes, there is cordial relationship between us and the Olubadan. His reception for us Ndigbo in Ibadan and Oyo State is wonderful, he is a man with a large heart, a complete gentle man, and a blessing to Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
‘We knew one another before he became the Olubadan, he is a man who love his people and anyone who cross his path, I thank God for his emergence as the Olubadan of Ibadan land
“The ancient city under his reign has continued to witness tremendous peace and development, there is peace everywhere, and this alone is a blessing to the people. We are praying for him that under his reign, Ibadan will continue to witness more progress and that God will bless his reign.”
The Ezendigbo while assuring the Olubadan of the cooperation of Igbos in Ibadan and the state said the testimony of his good leadership in the last one year of his reign is a sign that God is with him.
