The Ezendigbo, head of Igbos in Ibadan and Oyo State, His Royal Highness, Dr. Alex Anozie, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Mohood Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, on the success recorded in the elevation of 34 Baales in Ibadan less city to Obaship status.
Dr. Anozie, in a statement, described the development as very commendable, adding that it will further promote the cultural and traditional values of chieftaincy settings in Ibadan and the state as a whole.
Dr. Anozie, President of Non-Indigenes Traditional Council in Oyo state (Nitcios), said the development will also aid rapid development in the rural settings, urging the newly elevated monarchs to be good ambassadors of the Olubadan and people of the areas in their respective domains.
“On behalf of myself, my family, all Ndigbos, and members of Non-Indigenes Traditional Council in Oyo State, we rejoice and congratulate His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba (Dr) Senator Lekan Balogun, and the Executive Governor of our pace-setter state, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the peaceful and successful elevation of Baales to Obaship status in Ibadanland.
“We are very happy as we are peacefully making progress in this part of the country. We also congratulate the newly inaugurated executives of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), we give all of them a big round of applause for this historic achievement.
The Ezendigbo while praying for peace and development during the reign of the Olubadan assured the monarch of the cooperation and peaceful coexistence of Igbos and members of Non-Indigenes Traditional Council in Ibadan and the state as a whole.
