The General Overseer, Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International, Eleyele Ibadan, Rev. (Dr) Moses Aransiola has admonished Christians and Nigerian leaders to pray well so that the nation can achieve national success.
Dr Aransiola gave the admonition at a press conference held at the church Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan heralding the forthcoming 2023 International Prayer Acedemy (IPA) and the 30 years anniversary of Gethsemane Prayer School scheduled for September 11th to 17th 2023.
Dr Aransiola who noted that there is suffering in the nation said nothing is really working in the country, adding that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has continued to make things difficult for the people.
According to him, the people of the country who ought to prayer hard in the right direction are themselves the problems of the country, which make it look like there is no solution to the challenges facing the nation.”
“The people of God need to pray well and seek the face of God with the right prayers to make the country achieve national success.
“Nigerians are very religious. You cannot be committing sins and praying. God cannot answer such prayers. Those messing up Nigeria are in churches and mosque.”
Nigeria is not where it is supposed to be presently, there is sorrow everywhere in Nigeria, and I do not think that the structure on which we are operating now is the right one. I think God still has something for the nation, and our commitment in prayer will determine our national success.”
Dr. Aransiola said the prayer school was principally set up to train people on how to pray in line with principles of Prayer.
According to him, Nigeria is not where it is supposed to be presently, hence, the country need fervent and genuine prayers that can move the hand of God to turn things around for the nation.
“I do not think the structure we are operating upon politically is the right one, and Nigeria is not where it is supposed to be at the moment, otherwise, the quality of our prayers will determine our national success.”
He said if the Ministers stop talking about prosperity, money and others on the pulpit, and talk about the real values of the Bible, the craze for prosperity and money which make the people commit sin will reduce drastically.
Dr Aransiola who is currently the national director of two national prayer bodies: the ‘Nigeria Prays’, a National Prayer Mobilization initiated by General (Dr.) Yakubu Gowon, Ex- Head of States and the National Committee on Repentance, Reconciliation and Prayer Mobilization – Operation Jehovah Saboth, said the reason for the press conference was to tell the world that the Gethsemane Prayer Ministries has the light and fire of prayer, hence, it is the job of the Ministry to give light to the world.
He said: “You cannot become an effective prayer warrior without learning how to pray. God answers prayers provided we pray well, most people survive on the prayer strength of others, our job is to teach people the principle and abc of prayer, and how to pray and heaven will open. We, in the Ministry teach prayers wholistically, he explained.
The Clergy, a revered author of many Christian books whose ministry spans more that 44 years said many leaders in the nation including Ex- President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Yakubu Gowon, Goodluck Jonathan, Professor Jerry Gana, and others have benefited from the prayer ministry.
Dr Aransiola who expressed the belief that in the next 30 years the prayer school would have become a prayer institute of greater dimension in Africa said they are the first prayer school teaching people on intellectual prayer dimensions.
According to him, people still demand for the training due to the results they are getting.
The revered clergy who disclosed that finances has been a major challenge limiting the activities of the ministry in some areas added that the prayer school is made heterogeneous in order to make it open to other denominations.
“One of the things we succeeded doing in the past was puting an end to the Ife and Modakeke crisis through powerful intercessory prayers and divine intervention by God. The Prayer School was taking to the Obafemi Awolowo University Prayer Chapel, we took charge from there with hot intercessory prayers and the declaration of the power of the Holy Ghost. The Lord intervened and the crisis came to end.
Aransiola said Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International, which was established for prayer, intercession and deliverance, had taken missionary work to different parts of the world, adding that it had trained thousands of prayer intercessors in dominations across Nigeria and in overseas.
“In our school, we have capable hands handling our students. We train them for three months for them to have prayer knowledge and spirit for prayer,” he said.
Aransiola said the school, in the next few years hoped to become a prayer institute, which, according to him, would be first of its kind in Africa.
Speaking earlier, the Director of the school, Pastor Bayo Owoseni said the essence of the press conference was to sensitize the public on the 2023 International Prayer Acedemy and the 30 years anniversary of the prayer school.
According to him, the Ministry which started in 1987 birthed the prayer school in 1993 adding that the missionary work has been taken to many parts of the world including Russia, Canada and others.
Pastor Owoseni said the school since inception has trained leaders in various capacities, Region pastors, among others, adding that the 2023 International Prayer Acedemy (IPA) and the 30 years anniversary of the prayer school will commence on Monday 11th to Sunday 17th of September, 2023. at the church Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.
